Wake Surfing Spring Break Destinations

Though it may only be January, we are willfully determined to keep our focus on warmer weather and time on the lake. And in that spirit we are looking forward to Spring Break! Don’t waste your Spring Break on the land this year, hit the water and do some wake surfing! Living in the United States means there is no shortage of wake-surf-worthy lakes to enjoy over Spring Break but if you want to make this year particularly memorable visit some of these national treasures and catch some air! 

Lake Shasta, Northern California

This amazing body of water covers 30,000 acres making this vast lake a must-see. Its size alone allows for plenty of space to do your wake surfing thing – even during busy periods. And you can’t beat that view! 

Flathead Lake, Montana

Flathead lake is the largest natural freshwater lakes by surface area in this region of the country. It is also known as the clearest. With 13 different access points this lake makes it easy to hit the water – and after all, that is the best part!

Lake Lanier, Georgia

Lake Lanier is located in Georgia, complete with mountains, waterfalls and roughly 700 miles of shoreline. The warmer climate of Georgia means the time in the water will be that much sweeter and time outside of the water can be spent camping or hiking since the lake is located near Don Carter State Park – perfect! 

Lake Travis, Texas

Located in central Texas, this lake is one of the clearest lakes in the state. With plenty of recreational uses, our favorite is still wake surfing! 

Lake George, New York

Sure, a lake with a view is not absolutely necessary to enjoy a day wake surfing, but it doesn’t hurt either! Lake George is said to be one of the best mountain lakes in the U.S. and lovingly nicknamed “Queen of American Lakes”. With beautiful views and plenty of space to wake surf, this is definitely a great Spring Break location!
